If the title of this article caught your attention, I’ve got some news for you.
There’s no sugarcoating this: the whole “Be a good little boy/girl – Get good grades – Go to college – Find a good job – Put money into your retirement account and you’ll be just fine” fairy tale is collapsing right before our eyes.
At the time of writing, it’s May 24th, 2022. I’m in Harrow, UK, and as some Covid restrictions have just been lifted, people here are excited about the prospect of visiting pubs for a pint or two.
After months of lockdown, that excitement’s understandable.
But what’s less understandable is the broader picture – millions are still out of work, burned out from trying to “play by the rules,” and yet, rather than focusing on escaping the 9-5 grind, they’re turning to temporary distractions.
- Booze, Netflix, weekend getaways… all ways to forget that they’re trapped.
And let’s be real: We’ve been played.
For years, we were led to believe that following the “safe” path would lead to happiness and security.
But here’s the reality:
- 1 in 3 Americans have no retirement savings.
- Most Americans don’t have even $1,000 in their bank account.
- Only 20% of Americans are free of debt.
So let me ask you: Do you have $5,000 in liquid cash sitting in your bank account?
If the answer is no, you’re not alone – but you’re also not free.
We were sold a dream.
Told that if we got a degree and found a good job, everything would fall into place.
But now millions are saddled with student debt that can’t be wiped out, not even in bankruptcy.
Worse yet, many of those high-paying jobs are either being automated away by technology or shipped overseas to save a few bucks on payroll.
The middle class has been gutted, and it’s no wonder a recent report from the McKinsey Global Institute found that 70% of households saw their incomes drop over the past decade.
That’s right – 70%.
We’re living through a time when people’s hard work isn’t leading to better lives, it’s just keeping them afloat.
So what went wrong?
We were taught to believe that wealth and security would come as long as we followed the path society laid out for us.
But that promise was a lie.
And here’s the kicker:
It’s not your fault. We’ve all been played.
But it is your responsibility to do something about it.
Now, I get it. This is a lot to swallow. No one likes to realize they’ve been duped. But the quicker you accept this truth, the quicker you can take action.
It’s time to ask yourself the question I posed yesterday: “What’s the BIGGEST lie we’ve been fed by our government and ruling classes?”
It’s simple.
- The biggest lie is that success comes from obedience.
- From following the rules.
- From settling for mediocrity and hoping for a comfortable retirement.
That is not the path to freedom.
Freedom comes from taking control of your own financial future.
It comes from waking up without an alarm clock, from shopping for quality over price, from living life on your own terms.
But most importantly – it comes from action.
So here’s the question you need to ask yourself: Are YOU going to keep playing by the rules? Or are you ready to break free and create a life most people can only dream of?
If you’re ready to stop being played, I’ve got something that can help.
